My first book was a memoir about losing my brother, Dominic, in the Indian Ocean tsunami in 2004.

The Sunday Telegraph described it as ‘A beautifully crafted portrait of bereavement that tells us something new about the landscape, people, customs and hardship that he encountered along the way.’

It won Best First Book at the Scottish Book Awards.
